VOWS Unit Apprehends Two More

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) and U.S. Marshals have apprehended two individuals for major offenses within the past 24 hours.

Butler Synder (DOB: 2/29/1960), for armed robbery and simple criminal damage to property.  The incident occurred on March 12, 2017, in the 3900 block of Cambronne Street. He was apprehended in the 1000 block of Compromise Drive in Kenner, LA. (photo not available)

Donlanda Lafrance (DOB: 7/28/94), for aggravated battery, aggravated assault and resisting an officer. The incident occurred at Morrison Road and I-10 Service Road on March 10, 2017 and Lafrance was apprehended in the 11000 block of Morrison Avenue.

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016, the unit was responsible from more than 500 arrests.
