Two Additional Suspected Offenders Arrested by VOWS Unit

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) and U.S. Marshals have apprehended one adult and one juvenile for major offenses within the past 24 hours.

George Diggs (DOB: 6/27/50) was arrested for third degree rape. The incident took place at Franklin Avenue and North Roman Street on March 18, 2016. Diggs was arrested at 2700 Tulane Avenue.

VOWS also arrested a juvenile for first degree murder. He was apprehended at 1200 L.B. Landry Avenue and was wanted by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office for a homicide in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on July 16, 2016.

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible from more than 500 arrests.
