Driver, Vehicle Used in Drive-By Shooting Sought by NOPD

Driver, Vehicle Used in Drive-By Shooting Sought by NOPD

The NOPD is looking for the driver of a vehicle that was used in a shooting on North Miro Street.

On Thursday, March 2, 2017 at approximately 9:39 a.m. the victim stated that a black vehicle pulled up alongside of him and the driver pointed a semi-automatic handgun at him and opened fire.

The vehicle is described as being a 2009-2013 Nissan Rouge or Murano. A photo of a similar make and model is included with this release. The suspect is described as being a male with a brown complexion, a low haircut, 30-33 years old, 5’8” tall and weighing 200 pounds.

Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

In Louisiana, battery committed with a dangerous weapon is a felony punishable by a fine of up to $5,000, up to 10 years in prison, or both. The offender is also subject to special punishment under Louisiana’s firearm sentencing enhanced statute.
