NOPD Identifies Suspect in Simple Robbery on Poydras Street

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Mark Anthony Fortuna (DOB: 11-25-1983) in connection with a simple robbery incident that occurred on June 7, 2018 in the 2200 block of Poydras Street.

At about 4:50 a.m., the victim and Fortuna were reportedly engaged in a verbal altercation in the area over Fortuna’s medication allegedly being stolen from his vehicle the prior day. During the altercation, the victim said, Fortuna threatened to shoot the victim if he did not return Fortuna’s medication. Fortuna then reportedly took the victim’s medication bag from his hand and fled the scene in a small gray four-door vehicle.
