NOPD, U.S. Marshals Arrests Suspects in Homicide on Warfield Drive

The NOPD and U.S. Marshals today (June 13, 2018) arrested Kevin T. Green (DOB: 06-29-1995) and Dwayne L. Daggs (DOB: 05-05-1994) in connection with the fatal shooting of Leonard Warren Jr. in the 6600 block of Warfield Drive on May 16, 2018.

At about 6:32 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male lying in a grassy area suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as Warren, was pronounced dead at the scene.

As investigation progressed, detectives were able to positively identify both Green and Daggs as suspects in this incident and obtained warrants for their arrest. Green was arrested the 4800 block of Kendall Street by NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and U.S. Marshals, while the agencies also arrested Daggs in the 2500 block of South Roman Street.

Both Green and Daggs were booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for second-degree murder. Booking photos were not available at the time of this release.

In addition to the murder booking, Daggs was also arrested on fugitive attachments from St. Bernard Parish for theft and resisting an officer, as well as a fugitive attachment from Jefferson Parish on a traffic violation.
