UPDATE: NOPD Arrests Suspect in Shooting Investigation

UPDATE: Wanted suspect Shannon Kendrick Scott surrendered to NOPD officers on June 27, 2023, in regard to charges in this shooting investigation. Scott was booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.

 

ORIGINAL: The NOPD is asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred in the Eighth District.

On June 25, 2023 at about 12:07 a.m., a shooting was reported near the intersection of St. Louis and Royal Street. 

Shannon Kendrick Scott, (pictured, Black male DOB: 12-129-1999) was allegedly seen running from the scene and discarding a weapon.

He was immediately arrested by officers in the Bourbon Street Promenade Unit and booked on charges of illegally carrying of a weapon and resisting an officer and subsequently made bail.

Through further investigation, detectives have now identified Scott as the alleged shooter in this incident.

He is being sought on charges of aggravated second-degree battery and several other offenses including obstruction of justice.
