The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (June 20, 2023) in the 9300 block of Airline Highway that left one person dead.
At about 4:37p.m., NOPD Third District officers responded to a call of a shot person at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a 20-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. Therefore, no additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of the autopsy and notification of the family.
Homicide Detective Michael Poluikis is the lead investigator.
