NOPD Investigates Homicide on North Dorgenois Street

NOPD Investigates Homicide on North Dorgenois Street

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred in the 1500 block of North Dorgenois Street.

Today (June 8), around 7:30 a.m., officers in the First District responded to a call of an aggravated battery by stabbing. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female victim outside the residence suffering from an apparent stab wound(s). The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering information that will help them identify a person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
