NOPD Arrests Suspect in Seventh District Carjacking

The NOPD has arrested Stephanie N. Kyzar (pictured, white female, DOB: 03-11-1988) of Pearl River, La., In the investigation of an unarmed carjacking that occurred on June 2, 2021 in the 7900 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

At around 1:50 p.m. on June 2, an unknown female subject entered the driver’s seat of the victim’s vehicle parked in the 7900 block of Chef Menteur Highway.  The car was unlocked and running with two children inside.  As the subject drove off the two children jumped out of the vehicle’s rear passenger seat.

At about 4:14 p.m. on June 3, Seventh District officers responded to a call of a reported unknown white female fitting the description of the carjacking suspect. The subject, later identified as Kyzar, was located at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Michoud Boulevard. Through further investigation, detectives positively identified Kyzar as the perpetrator and arrested her. Additionally, Kyzar informed detectives as to the location of the stolen vehicle which was later recovered.

Kyzar was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for simple robbery, aggravated battery and violation of parole.
