NOPD Investigates Third District Homicide, Shooting

The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of one adult male and injured another adult male Monday (June 08, 2020) evening in the Third District.

Third District officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 4200 block of General Ogden Street, just after 2 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered two adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One male victim was pronounced deceased on scene. The second male victim was transported to an area hospital by EMS.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim’s name upon completion of the autopsy and notification of family.
