Suspect Wanted for Simple Robbery on Newton Street

The NOPD is seeking assistance in identifying and locating the pictured subject for his involvement in a simple robbery incident that occurred on June 2, 2018.

At around 4:49 p.m., the pictured suspect entered a local store in the 1600 block of Newton Street where the female victim was standing at the checkout counter. After purchasing her items, the victim exited the store followed by the subject. Once outside, the subject approached the victim and forcefully took money from the victim’s pockets. The suspect then fled the location in a silver Acura or Infinity vehicle.

He is described as black male, medium build with a low cut hairstyle. The suspect is described as being about 5’10” tall and appeared to be between the ages of 35 to 40. He was attired in a red and white jersey style shirt with the word “chappo” on the back and gray-colored jean pants.
