NOPD Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Chef Menteur Highway

NOPD Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Chef Menteur Highway

The NOPD is investigating a fatal hit-and-run vehicle crash that occurred this morning (June 17, 2018) in the 13800 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

At about 3:49 a.m., Seventh District officers received a call of an unresponsive male lying in the middle of the road in the 13800 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Upon arrival and investigation, officers determined that the victim had been struck by at least one vehicle. The victim was declared dead at the scene.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
