NOPD officers are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred today (June 28) in the Seventh District.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 6600 block of Selma Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered one adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine an official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
