Juveniles Arrested for Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm & Marijuana

Officers in the Seventh District arrested three juveniles for illegal discharging of a firearm, possession of a firearm, resisting an officer and illegal possession of marijuana.

The incident happened on May 31, 2018. At around 12:30 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to a call of multiple gunshots coming from the back of the Walnut Square apartments in the 8500 block of North I-10 Service Road. Upon arrival to the location, officers observed three black male subjects, two of which were armed with handguns, fleeing from the back of the building of the apartment complex.

Officers then pursued the male subjects and located them inside of the apartment complex where they were able to successfully apprehend three male subjects. The three male subjects were identified as juveniles ages 16, 15 and 14 years old. During the apprehension, the 16- year-old was in possession of loaded 9mm Glock 26 and the 15-year-old was in possession of a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun.

The 16-year-old juvenile was booked with illegal possession of a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm and resisting an officer. The 15–year-old was booked with illegal possession of a firearm and resisting an officer. The 14- year- old was booked with possession of a schedule I drugs (marijuana).
