During the past week NOPD officers, the Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit and the Tactical Intelligence Gathering and Enforcement Response (TIGER) team  arrested 31 adults and 5 juveniles for major offenses including homicide, human trafficking of children, attempted homicide, aggravated rape, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of narcotics.

 

June 22

The VOWS Unit arrested Jonathan Stone (DOB: 5/13/1992) for second degree murder. The incident occurred in the 7800 block of Olive Street in the Second District on June 14, 2017. Stone was apprehended in the 1600 block of Poland Street in the Fifth District. He was also arrested for a parole violation.

 

Terrence Coe (DOB: 1/13/1979) for theft of a motor vehicle, simple assault, simple robbery, stalking, and simple battery.  The incident took place in the 4600 block of Coronado Street  on April 16, 2017, and he was arrested at the Fourth District station.

 

Raymond Emilien (DOB: 7/9/1975) for second degree battery, domestic abuse battery, theft, unauthorized use of a movable, and aggravated assault with a firearm. The incident happened in the 2100 block of Pauger Street on April 7, 2017, and Emilien was apprehended in the 2800 block of Perdido Street.

 

June 23

Matthew Bell (DOB: 6/29/85) for second degree rape. The incident occurred on June 21, 2017, and the arrest took place in the 8900 block of Forshey Street.

 

VOWS and the U.S. Marshals arrested Aaron Roach (DOB: 10/2/1996) for human trafficking of children for sexual purposes.  The incident occurred in the 4000 block of Tulane Avenue in the First District on May 29, 2017. He was arrested in the 2700 block Mendez Street in the Third District.

 

Melvin Stalks (DOB: 10/18/95) for two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, simple battery, possession of crack cocaine (9.74 grams) and marijuana ( 1.37 grams), and  being a felon in possession of firearm (Glock 23, 40 caliber). The incidents occurred at Jackson Avenue and Willow Street on June 17, 2017, and in the 2100 block of Willow Street in the Sixth District on June 15, 2017. He was apprehended in the 1600 block of Poland Avenue in the Fifth District.

 

Brandon Jackson (DOB: 7/29/1989) for armed robbery, aggravated burglary, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm, and simple criminal damage to property. The incident occurred in the 7800 block of Sand Street in the Seventh District on April 15, 2017. He was arrested at 2700 Tulane Avenue in the First District.

 

Roger Thorpe (DOB: 1/7/1954) for armed robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm, and illegal discharge of a firearm. The incident took place at I-10 and Read Boulevard and Thorpe was arrested nearby in the Seventh District.

 

Jose Melendez-Arias (DOB: 11/18/1965) for attempted second degree murder. The incident took place in the 8100 block of Fig Street on June 23, 2017. He was arrested in the 2000 block of Canal Street in the First District.

 

Taron Duncan (DOB: 8/20/1997) for use of a firearm in a robbery. The incident took place on April 22, 2017, in the 3700 block of South Prieur Street and he was arrested at LaSalle and Fourth streets in the Sixth District.

 

Roland Harvey (DOB: 10/17/1998) for illegal possession of stolen things. The incident, which took place on June 21, 2017, occurred at Senate and Touro streets. Harvey was arrested in the 2900 block of Music Street.

Eishawn Knight (DOB: 8/30/1998) for illegal possession of stolen things. The incident, which took place on June 21, 2017, occurred at Senate and Touro streets. Harvey was arrested in the 2900 block of Music Street in the Fifth District.

 

June 24

Elliot Peters (DOB: 7/15/1999) for homicide.  The incident occurred on June 13, 2017, in the 9300 block of Chef Menteur Highway and Peters was arrested in the 3900 block of Baronne Street in the Sixth District.

 

David Griffin (DOB: 2/4/1992) for carjacking and armed robbery. The incident took place on June 20, 2017, at Bennett and Rankin streets and Griffin turned himself in to authorities in the Fourth District.

 

Chester Brister (DOB: 5/4/1987) for attempted homicide.  The incident took place in the 7400 block of Benson Court and Brister was arrested at his residence in the Seventh District a short time later.

 

Jacobi Ward (DOB: 11/30/1989) for aggravated assault. The incident and the arrest took place in the 2000 block of Mandeville Street.

 

NOPD arrested a 16-year-old male for attempted armed robbery. The incident happened in the 1500 block of Broadway on June 3, 2017, and the arrest took place in the 4300 block of Magazine Street in the Second District.

 

A 14-year-old male was arrested for aggravated rape. The incident took place on June 23, 2017, in the 10500 block of Hayne Boulevard in the Seventh District.

  

June 25

Joshua Kinney (DOB: 7/17/1989) for possession of 20 bags of heroin (5.7 grams) of heroin. The arrest took place during a traffic stop in the 1600 block of North Villere Street.

 

Latoya Bonner (DOB: 2/26/1985) possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. The arrest took place during a traffic stop in the 1600 block of North Villere Street.

 

Charles Alexander (DOB: 7/13/1988) for possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. The arrest took place during a traffic stop in the 1600 block of North Villere Street in the Fifth District.

 

Nakeiah Offray (DOB: 9/29/1997) for a vehicle burglary in the 600 block of Orleans Avenue and an auto theft in the 800 block of Filmore in the Third District. Offray was apprehended nearby after a short pursuit.

 

Keith Glover (DOB: 5/19/1982) for criminal trespass and violation of protective orders. The incident took place on May 30, 2017, in the 1400 block of Teche Street, and the arrest happened in the 3800 block of Louisa Street.

A 16-year-old male was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle. The incident took place in the 5100 Basinview Drive on June 21, 2017, and the juvenile was arrested in the 3800 block of Louisa in the Fifth District.

 

June 26

Dejuan Paul (DOB: 10/5/1995) for second degree robbery. The incident took place on June 24, 2017, in the 200 block of Bienville Street. Paul turned himself in to Eighth District officers.

 

Homer Gross (DOB: 7/21/1998) for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of stolen property. Seventh District arrested Gross who was observed operating a stolen vehicle on Majestic Oaks Drive.  He bailed out of the car and attempted to evade arrest on foot but he was apprehended a short distance later. 

 

NOPD arrested a 16-year-old male for simple burglary in the 8800 block of Cohn Street on December 21, 2016. He was apprehended in the 1100 block of Milton Street.

 

June 27

Joshua Simmons (DOB: 2/19/1999) for second degree robbery. The incident took place in the 200 block of Bienville Street on June 24, 2017, and Simmons was apprehended in the 600 block of North Rampart Street in the Eighth District.

 

Larry Horton (DOB: 2/9/1966) for theft and illegal possession of stolen things. The incident occurred on June 27, 2017, in the 900 block of Iberville and he was arrested in the 200 block of North Peters in the Eighth District.      

 

 

June 28

Rashaad Piper (DOB: 12/3/1996) for second degree robbery. The incident took place in the 200 block of Bienville Street on June 24, 2017. He was arrested in the 800 block of Conti Street in the Eighth District.

 

The Tactical Intelligence Gathering and Enforcement Response (TIGER) and VOWS units arrested Nicholas Pogozelski (4/5/1999) for second degree robbery. The incident took place in the 200 block of Bienville Street on June 24, 2017, and he was apprehended in the 1800 block of Tchoupitoulas Street in the Sixth District.

 

The VOWS Unit arrested Kenneth Murdock (DOB: 1/31/1996) for principal to second degree murder. The incident occurred in the 7800 block of Olive Street on June 14, 2017. Murdock was arrested at his residence in the Second District.

 

The VOWS Unit arrested Markee Edwards (DOB: 12/19/1996) for two counts of attempted second degree murder, illegal discharging of a firearm, and criminal damage to property. The incident occurred at the intersection of Crowder Boulevard and I-10 Service Road in the Seventh District on April 9, 2017. Edwards was also arrested for obstruction of justice in connection with an incident in the 7400 block of Read Boulevard. He was apprehended in the 11000 block of Curran Boulevard in the Seventh District.

 

Robert Hall (DOB: 7/15/1999) for attempted armed robbery with a gun. The incident took place in the 800 block of Burgundy Street on June 28, 2017, and he was arrested nearby.

 

Destiny Goodman (4/8/2000) for attempted armed robbery with a gun. The incident took place in the 800 block of Burgundy Street on June 28, 2017, and she was arrested nearby.

 

NOPD arrested a 14-year-old male for attempted armed robbery with a gun. The incident took place in the 800 block of Burgundy Street on June 28, 2017, and he was arrested nearby.
