Two Suspects Sought for Armed Carjacking on North Roman

NOPD is searching for two suspects wanted in connection with an armed carjacking that took place last night (May 31).

The victim reported that at approximately 8:30 p.m. she was parked near the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and North Roman Street when she heard a tap on her driver’s side window. She rolled the window down slightly and an unknown black male asked to use her cellphone. While she dialed the number for him, a second unknown black male appeared and opened the driver’s side door. He then reached across her, grabbed her purse and placed a gun to her head as he pulled her out of the vehicle. The two perpetrators then entered the victim’s vehicle and drove away.

Suspect #1 is described as a clean-shaven black male with a low haircut and dark complexion. He is 5’9” tall with a stocky build and appeared to be 16-17 years old. The suspect was wearing a white t-shirt with possible blue markings on the front and dark pants.

Suspect #2 is described as a clean-shaven black male with a low haircut and a dark complexion. He is 5’9” tall with a medium build and he appeared to be 20-21 years old. He wore a black or navy blue t-shirt and was armed with a small caliber silver handgun.

The vehicle that was taken is a white 2011 Chevrolet HHR with black wheels. There is a dent on the front hood, and a Loyola University alumni sticker and an orange circle cyclops decal on the right rear bumper. A photo of a similar make and model vehicle is included.
