Suspect Arrested after Triple Shooting on South Laverne Saturday

NOPD Seventh District Investigators have arrested Dashawn Harris (DOB:6-9-1999) after he shot three victims in the 6100 block of South Laverne.

The incident happened on June 3, 2017. At around 11:10 p.m. Seventh District officers responded to a shooting in the 6600 block of Foch Road. The location was then changed to the 6100 block of South Laverne. Seventh District officers arrived on scene and discovered three male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Two victims were transported to the hospital by EMS and the other victim went to the hospital by private conveyance.

Through further investigation, officers located surveillance video from the area that showed the arrested subject, Dashawn Harris, exit a light colored vehicle armed with a gun. As the victims stood in the area, Harris began shooting at them.

Intelligence gathered from social media and cell phone traffic showed that Harris was in the area specifically looking to harm one of the victims. Detectives conducted interviews, lineup procedures and were able to obtain a positive identification.

Harris was arrested and booked accordingly into Central Lock Up.
