The NOPD has obtained surveillance video that shows an individual believed to be responsible for an attempted robbery at Sweet Things and Grill, 310 N. Broad St., on June 3, 2017.

At about 7:03 a.m., surveillance video from the business shows an unknown black male enter and approach the counter, staying there for a short time. The clerk, who was in the rear of the bakery, went to open the double doors from the rear of the bakery to assist the customer. At that time, the subject is seen immediately producing a black gun and pointing it at the clerk. The clerk immediately ran to the rear of the bakery to alert her co-workers, who were in the rear of the store. The subject is seen making an attempt to reach for the cash register, but was unable to do so. He then fled the scene.
