Second District Officers Arrest 1, Confiscate 8 Guns including Two Reported Stolen

On June 20, 2017,  NOPD Second District officers arrested Jonathan Williams (DOB: 01-15-1991) for multiple counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana. An arrest warrant has also been issued for his mother, Shelita Williams (DOB: 4-8-1970), after a search of her bedroom revealed additional guns including two firearms that were reported stolen.

Second District General Assignment officers were conducting surveillance in the area when officers observed a white Honda Accord that was believed to have been involved in a number of auto burglaries reported in the Second District. The officers then observed a subject exit the vehicle then enter a residence in the 3100 block of Milan Street. 

Officers eventually lost sight of the vehicle as it left the location. However, Second District detectives arrived at the residence, where they met Jonathan Williams. Williams was arrested after officers found him to be in possession of marijuana and a S&W .357 magnum revolver with an attached laser.

A subsequent search warrant was executed on the residence. The search led officers to confiscate a Micro Draco 7.62mmx39mm assault rifle, Glock 43 9mm semi-automatic handgun, Cobra FS380 .380 semi-automatic handgun, and a Kahr CM9 9mm semi-automatic handgun, all found in Jonathan Williams' bedroom. Jonathan Williams was booked with multiple counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  

Detectives then relocated to the bedroom belonging to Shelita Williams, where officers discovered a Glock 22 .40 semi-automatic handgun and a Ruger LCP .380 semi-automatic handgun which was reported stolen from Orleans Parish. Officers also located a Ruger GP100 .357 Magnum revolver which was reported stolen from St. Tammany Parish.  An arrest warrant was obtained for Shelita Williams relative to possession of stolen firearms.

In all, a total of eight firearms were confiscated from the location.
