NOPD Seeks Persons of Interest in Connection with Armed Carjacking

At approximately 1:24 a.m., on June 3, 2017, two women reported they were carjacked near the intersection of Burgundy and Barracks streets.

The two victims were returning to their car in the 1200 block of Burgundy when they were approached by two unknown black males who asked to use Victim #1’s cell phone. The victim complied and at the conclusion of the cell phone conversation, Suspect #1 returned the phone and asked if Victim #1 would give them a ride. She declined and Suspect #1 then produced a silver handgun, pointed it at Victim #1 and demanded her car keys. She complied and the two suspects fled in her silver, four-door, 2005 Honda Civic with Colorado license plate number 550WNJ.

Both victims’ cell phones were inside the vehicle. One of the victims checked her Google account and learned a photograph of three unknown black females was taken with her cell phone later that day, possibly by the perpetrators. The three females in the photo are not wanted but they are considered persons of interest who may have important information about this investigation. A photo of a similar make and model vehicle is also included.

If you can help locate the stolen vehicle or identify the three unknown females in the photograph please notify Detective Alicia Pierre or any Eighth District detective at 504-658-6080. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
