NOPD Investigating Double Homicide, Triple Shooting

NOPD Investigating Double Homicide, Triple Shooting

The NOPD is investigating a triple shooting that left two men dead and one other injured last night (June 15).

At approximately 11:11 p.m., Second District officers responded to a call of a shooting at South Carrollton Avenues and Earhart Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found an unidentified male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the body lying in the street. EMS rendered medical care and transported the victim to the hospital, still he died from his injuries.

At approximately 11:33 p.m., First District officers responded to a call of a shooting at North Johnson and Bienville streets. Upon arrival, they found a 28-year-old male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the body lying in the rear seat of a black Honda Civic. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A brief time later, officer learned a 26-year-old male victim arrived at a local hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Upon further investigation, it was identified that the two shooting incidents were connected.

Investigation into this incident is ongoing. No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the two deceased victims and official cause of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
