NOPD Arrests Two Additional Suspects in Second Degree Robbery on Bienville Street

The NOPD today (June 28, 2017) have arrested Rashaad Piper (DOB: 12-03-1996) and Nicholas Pogozelski (DOB: 04-5-1999), who were both wanted in connection with the second degree robbery that occurred on June 24 in the 200 block of Bienville Street that left two victims injured. 

 

Shortly before 9 p.m. on June 24, surveillance video evidence shows four unknown males attacking two male victims from behind as they were walking in the 200 block of Bienville Street. After assaulting both victims and knocking them to the ground, the subjects robbed the victims of their property. The suspects then fled the scene.

 

Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where one victim remains listed in critical condition. The second victim was treated and has been released from the hospital.

 

As investigation into the incident progressed, detectives were able to develop four suspects in this incident.

 

Pogozelski was arrested in a joint effort with Eighth District detectives; the NOPD’s Tactical Intelligence Gathering and Enforcement Response Unit, or TIGER; and the NOPD’s Violent Offenders Warrant Squad, or VOWS. He will be booked into Central Lockup on a charge of second-degree robbery.

 

Piper was arrested booked into Central Lockup on a charge of second-degree robbery.

 

On June 27, Joshua Simmons (DOB: 02-19-1999) was arrested and booked into Central Lockup on a charge of second degree robbery.

 

On June 26, Dejuan Paul (DOB: 10-05-1995) surrendered to police and was booked with a charge of second degree robbery in this incident.

 

Pogozelski's name was previously reported at Polgowski, however he was booked into the Orleans Parish Prison under the name Nicholas Pogozelski
