NOPD Arrests Suspect Wanted for Two Counts of Attempted Murder

The NOPD VOWS Unit arrested Markee Edwards (DOB: 12/19/1996) for two counts of attempted second degree murder, illegal discharging of a firearm, and criminal damage to property.

 

The incident occurred at the intersection of I-10 Service Road and Crowder Boulevard on April 9, 2017. The victims reported they were in a vehicle at the intersection when they heard gunshots and realized they had each been hit by gunfire. They transported themselves to a local hospital by private conveyance.

 

Through the course of the investigation Edwards was developed as a suspect in the incident. He was apprehended today (June 28) in the 11000 block of Curran Boulevard. Edwards was also arrested for obstruction of justice in connection with an incident in the 7400 block of Read Boulevard.
