NOPD Arrests Suspect in Connection with Two Attempted Armed Robberies

The NOPD has arrested Anthony Taylor (DOB: 12-25-1994) for two attempted armed robberies in the Eighth District.

 

The victims of the first incident reported that shortly before 5 a.m. on May 21, 2017, they were walking in the 900 block of Dauphine Street when they were approached from behind by two unknown black males. Victim #1 stated one of the unknown males grabbed him by the shirt sleeve and demanded money while pointing a silver semi-automatic handgun at his head. The second unknown male grabbed Victim #2 by the shirt and pointed a silver handgun at him, also demanding money. The victims were able to break free and flee the scene.

 

The victim of the second attempted armed robbery stated he was walking in the 900 block of St. Peter Street at approximately 11:30 p.m. on June 1, 2017, when he was approached by an unknown black male. The unknown male pressed a silver revolver to his chest and demanded the victim hand over everything he had in his pockets. The victim stated he didn’t have anything and the unknown black male searched the victim’s pockets before fleeing the scene.

 

During the subsequent investigations, Anthony Taylor was developed as a suspect in both incidents and positively identified as the perpetrator by the victims. He was arrested in the 600 block of North Rampart.
