UPDATE: NOPD Arrests Suspect in Attempted Homicide on Chef Menteur Highway at Dale Street, Seeking Second Suspect

NOPD’s VOWS Unit has arrested Adonis Dudley (DOB: 09/30/1975) today for attempted second degree murder in the 900 block of Poydras Street. He was also arrested for a simple assault charge that occurred in the 6700 block of Chef Menteur Highway on November 05, 2016.

Orginial Story

The NOPD has arrested one of two suspects in an attempted homicide on May 19, 2017 at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Dale Street, with detectives having obtained a warrant for the second suspect’s arrest.

On the date of the incident, the victim is believed to have been shot several times by a suspect identified as Adonis “Shaddy” Dudley (DOB: 09-30-1975). Detectives believe that Dudley’s brother, identified as Donald Dudley (DOB: 08-28-1985), arrived at the location in a white Mustang with a blue hood and delivered a firearm to his brother. Adonis Dudley then allegedly shot the victim three times with the firearm before the victim was able to flee the scene. Adonis Dudley then allegedly returned the firearm to Donald Dudley, who reportedly fled in his vehicle while Adonis Dudley fled in a black Dodge Caliber hatchback that had severe damage to the front and rear passenger side doors.

Donald Dudley was arrested on June 5 and charged with principal to attempted second-degree murder. An arrest warrant has been obtained for Adonis Dudley on a charge of attempted second degree murder. Adonis Dudley should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Adonis “Shaddy” Dudley is asked to contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
