Person of Interest Sought for Questioning in NOPD Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is requesting assistance in locating a subject identified as a person of interest for questioning in the ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred on July 3, 2023, at the intersection of North Rocheblave and New Orleans streets.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Section detectives have developed Mikell Russell (pictured, black female, DOB: 12-07-1996) as a person of interest. Russell is not currently wanted on criminal charges in this investigation. However, detectives feel that she may have knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to interview her.

Anyone with additional information on this incident or on the whereabouts of the pictured person of interest is urged to contact NOPD Homicide Section Det. Tanisha Smith at 504-658-5300.
