NOPD Seeking Suspect in First District Aggravated Battery by Cutting

The NOPD is seeking assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in the investigation of an aggravated battery by cutting incident that occurred on July 23, 2023, at the intersection of North Claiborne and Ursulines avenues.

In this incident, the victim and pictured suspect were reportedly involved in a verbal altercation which became physical. The suspect then allegedly struck victim in the arm with a machete. The victim was transported to a local hospital via EMS and the suspect fled the scene.

The suspect is described as an unknown black male with a light complexion, thin build and long hair. The suspect reportedly goes by the nickname of “Furly”.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
