NOPD Seeking Person of Interest in Sixth District Homicide Investigation

NOPD Seeking Person of Interest in Sixth District Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating a subject being sought as a person of interest in a Sixth District homicide investigation.

On August 22, 2022, at about 12:19 p.m.,  a homicide by shooting occurred in the 3600 block of General Taylor Street.

The Orleans Parish Coroner identified the victim as 29-year-old Kevin August.

Through investigation, detectives identified the pictured, unknown black male as a person of interest in this investigation.  He is not wanted in this incident, but is believed to have knowledge pertinent to the investigation and is being sought for questioning.

Investigators say the subject goes by the name "Meatball2c" on social media.
