NOPD Seeking Person of Interest in Homicide Investigation

NOPD Seeking Person of Interest in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is requesting assistance from the public in locating and identifying a person of interest sought for questioning in the ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred on January 15, 2023, at the intersection of Esplanade Avenue and North Derbigny Street.

Just before 7:00 p.m., First District officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of Esplanade Avenue and North Derbigny Street.  Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was transported by EMS to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

The victim has since been identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner as 42-year-old Leonard Olidge.

Through investigation, the above pictured unknown black male, has been identified as a person of interest. This subject is not currently wanted on criminal charges. However, NOPD Homicide Section detectives feel that he has knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to question him.
