New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Michelle Woodfork encourages citizens to participate in the second NOPD Citizens Police Academy to be held this year. It is scheduled to begin August 12, 2023.
The NOPD Citizens Police Academy is an interactive learning experience that provides participants with an insiders’ perspective on the NOPD and the criminal justice system, in a fun and interactive setting that includes virtual training (pictured above).
Participants will learn about community policing, patrol duties, new technology the NOPD is utilizing, specialized divisions and more.
The 7-week class will be held at various NOPD facilities and will offer many hands-on experiences.
Interested citizens should fill out an application as soon as possible as space is limited.
