Listed below are significant arrests or clearances by warrant obtained between June 26-July 9. 2022, in criminal investigations by the NOPD:

Homicide

• On June 30, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives arrested Leslea Grinstead (black female, DOB; 07-01-1998) on one count of second-degree murder. The arrest came in the investigation of a homicide on May 16 in the 2000 block of Poland Avenue.
• On July 1, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives arrested Kimberly Franklin (black female, DOB: 09-30-1997) on one count of second-degree murder. The arrest came in the investigation of a homicide on July 1 in the 4900 block of Oled Drive.
• On July 7, NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad arrested a 15-year-old juvenile black male on one count of second-degree murder. The arrest came in the investigation of a homicide on May 15 in the 5700 block of Crowder Boulevard and is the fourth arrest made in this investigation.

First District

• On June 26, NOPD First District officers arrested Byron Moore (black male, DOB; 03-27-1987) on one count each of felon in possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a stolen firearm and aggravated flight from an officer. The arrest was made by DCAT officers in the 100 block of North Galvez Street.
• On June 30, NOPD First District officers arrested a 17-year-old juvenile black male on one count each of illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile and for aggravated flight from an officer. The arrest was made in an incident at the intersection of North Broad Street and Orleans Avenue.
• On July 7, NOPD First District detectives arrested a 17-year-old juvenile black male on one count of carjacking. The arrest was made in connection with an incident on July 7 in the 2900 block of Grand Route St. John.

Second District

• On June 30, NOPD Second District officers arrested Irvin McKinsey (black male, DOB: 08-25-1992) on one count of felon in possession of a firearm. The arrest came during an incident in the 2300 block of Dante Street.
• On July 8, NOPD Second District officers arrested a 16-year-old juvenile black female and detectives obtained arrest warrants for two 15-year-old juvenile black males. The arrested female suspect was charged with possession of stolen property, while the two at-large male suspects are each wanted on one count each of armed robbery. The arrest and warrants came in the investigation of an armed carjacking incident on July 8 in the 1500 block of Cambronne Street.
•  On July 10, NOPD Second District officers arrested Breion Jackson (black female, DOB; 06-07-2002), a 14-year-old juvenile black male and a 15-year-old juvenile black male. Each were arrested on one count of armed robbery. The arrests were made in the investigation of an armed robbery on July 10 at the intersection of Audubon Street and Walmsley Avenue.

Third District

• On July 5, NOPD Third District officers arrested Jude Sheridan (white male, DOB: 02-11-1996) on one count of attempted armed robbery. The arrest was made in the investigation of an incident on July 5 in the 4500 block of Toulouse Street.
• On July 7, NOPD Third District officers arrested Kenneth Murdock (black male, DOB; 01-31-1996) on one count of aggravated second-degree battery. The arrest was made in the investigation of a shooting on July 7 in the 2000 block of Lakeshore Drive.

Fifth District

• On June 26, NOPD Fifth District officers arrested Howard Collins (black male, DOB: 10-07-1968) on one count of aggravated assault. The arrest was made in the investigation of an incident on June 26 in the 1300 block of Saint Anthony Street.

Sixth District

• On July 8, NOPD Sixth District DCAT officers, Property Crimes detectives and FBI Gang Task Force arrested Ronald Stewart (black male, DOB: 01-22-1985), Dionell Patterson (black male, DOB: 09-27-1975) and Calvin Smith (black male, DOB; 05-11-1979) each on one count of illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of a CDS and possession of both Schedule I and Schedule II narcotics with intent to distribute. The arrests came during execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 2600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The search yielded two stolen firearms, multiple narcotics, more than $1,500 in cash and paraphernalia commonly used in the distribution of narcotics.

Seventh District

• On June 30, NOPD Seventh District officers arrested Irvin McKinsey (black male, DOB: 08-25-1992) on one count each of aggravated criminal damage to property, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm, home invasion, domestic abuse battery, criminal damage to property and for trespass. The arrest was made in the investigation of multiple incidents in which active warrants were issued for McKinsey’s arrest.

Eighth District

• On June 27, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Ramsey Williams (black male, DOB: 07-04-1998) on one count each of illegal possession of a firearm and for illegal use of weapons. The arrest was made in the investigation of an incident on June 27 in the 700 block of Decatur Street.
• On June 28, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Shanzelle M. Landry (black female, DOB: 05-12-1971) on one count of aggravated assault. The arrest came in the investigation of an incident on June 28 in the 200 block of Carondelet Street.
• On July 1, NOPD Eighth District detectives arrested Chantele M. Levangie (black female, DOB; 01-21-2003) on a charge of armed robbery. The arrest came in the investigation of an incident on January 4 at the intersection of Bunker Hill Road and Boston Drive.
• On July 1, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Brandon E. Johnston (white male, DOB: 08-06-1989) for felon in possession of a firearm, illegal possession of stolen things, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest was made in the 1000 block of Saint Anthony Street.
• On July 4, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Darrin Robin (black male, DOB: 01-05-1995) on one count of aggravated assault. The arrest came in the investigation of an incident on July 4 at the intersection of Canal and Bourbon streets.
• On July 4, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Kaneysha D. Gabriel (black female, DOB: 07-16-2000) on one count each of illegal possession of Schedule I and Schedule II CDS and illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of a CDS. The arrest was made in the investigation of an incident on July 4 in the 200 block of Tchoupitoulas Street.
• On July 7, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Ronnie Calvey (black male, DOB: 08-14-2003) and Joshua James (black male, DOB: 04-20-2004) on four counts each of attempted second-degree murder, four counts each of aggravated criminal damage to property, four counts each of simple burglary, two counts each of simple criminal damage to property and one count each of illegal use of weapons. The arrests were made in connection with a shooting incident on June 25 in the 500 block of Natchez Street. Both suspects were in custody in Jefferson Parish on unrelated charges.
• On July 9, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Shamen C. Isidore (black female, DOB: 11-30-1992) on one count each of aggravated assault with a firearm and for illegal carrying of a weapon. The arrest was made in the investigation of an incident on July 7 in the 200 block of Bourbon Street.
• On July 9, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested a 17-year-old juvenile black male on one count each of aggravated assault and for aggravated assault with a firearm. The arrest was made in the investigation of a shooting incident on July 9 in the 1100 block of Girod Street.
