NOPD Quickly Arrests Suspect in Third District Shooting, Seeking Additional Suspect

The NOPD has arrested Heath Robinson (pictured, white male, DOB: 10-29-1979) and is seeking a second suspect in the ongoing investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting today (July 23, 2021 in the 4800 block of France Road.

Through investigation, NOPD Third District detectives learned that Robinson and another unknown suspect allegedly entered a business in the area illegally in an attempt to steal copper from the location. A security guard at the facility encountered Robinson, while the second suspect fled the scene. Robinson reportedly fired a shotgun at the security guard, wounding the guard in the leg. Third District personnel arrived at the scene and apprehended Robinson without incident. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Robinson reportedly confessed to his involvement in the incident and in shooting the victim. He was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice center on one count of aggravated battery by shooting.
