NOPD Seeking Suspects in Seventh District Violent Crime Investigations

The NOPD is requesting the public’s assistance in locating wanted suspects and vehicles in the investigations of respective violent crimes having occurred in the Seventh District.

  • A 17-year-old juvenile male (not pictured) has been positively identified as a suspect in an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred on Monday, July 20, 2020 in the 8000 block of Gus Street. Just after 5:00 p.m. that day, occupants of a white Dodge Ram truck with chrome rims and bearing Louisiana license plate C981004 allegedly opened fire on the victims at the location, with one victim being struck by gunfire.
  • James Carter (pictured at top left, DOB: 07-31-1988) is wanted for an aggravated battery by shooting incident that occurred on July 22, 2020 in the 6000 block of Bullard Avenue. Through investigation, NOPD Seventh District detectives determined that Carter and a second black male subject produced firearms and began shooting at the victims, striking both victims. After the shooting, Carter and the second subject fled in a black Volkswagen bearing an unknown temporary tag number. Carter is wanted on two counts of aggravated second-degree battery and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm
  • Keyrell Wilson (pictured at top right, DOB: 05-06-1996) is wanted for an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred on July 23 in the 13000 block of Granville Street. Through investigation, Seventh District detectives learned that the suspect and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation when Wilson allegedly shot the victim multiple times. The victim was transported to a local hospital via EMS and the suspect fled the location in an unknown direction. Wilson was later positively identified as the perpetrator and is wanted for aggravated battery.
  • Richmond Marrero (pictured at bottom, DOB: 04-28-1989) is wanted for an armed robbery that occurred on July 13, 2020 in the 10100 block of Curran Boulevard. Through investigation, Seventh District officers learned that three suspects (two males and one female) reportedly entered a residence at the location and struck a male victim in the head with a firearm. One of the male suspects, later positively identified as Marrero, then allegedly took the victim’s phone and keys and fled the scene. Marrero is wanted for armed robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated second-degree battery and aggravated burglary.
