NOPD Investigates Seventh District Homicide

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred Monday evening (July 15) in the 6900 block of Martin Drive.

Seventh District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting around 4:37 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered one adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

Three additional adult victims were transported to University Medical Center by EMS to receive treatment for their injuries.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and official cause of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family. There are no additional details available at this time.
