Officers in the Eighth District arrested Lyndell Davis (DOB: 09-08-96) over the weekend for illegally carrying of a weapon and possessing drugs on Bourbon Street.
The incident happened on July 8, 2018. At about 1:10 a.m., Eighth District Promenade officers were on foot patrol in the 700 block of Canal Street when officers observed the above subject with a large square-shaped bulge projecting from the left side of his waist. As officers took a closer look, they observed the outline of a firearm and the handle extending from the subject’s shirt.
For officer safety, officers conducted a pat down on Davis and discovered a black semi-automatic handgun with one live round in the chamber and a magazine containing 16 live rounds inside of his waistband.
As the search continued, officers discovered an additional handgun with one live round in the chamber and four live rounds inside the revolvers and a plastic bag containing marijuana.
Davis was transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center and booked accordingly.
