NOPD Searching for Vehicle Taken in Armed Carjacking on Touro Street

The NOPD is seeking information to assist in locating a vehicle reported taken in the commission of an armed carjacking on July 8, 2018 in the 1300 block of Touro Street.

The victims told police that at about 12:45 p.m., they were in the 1300 block of Touro Street seated in a gray 2016 Toyota Camry bearing Louisiana license plate #BAV165. At that time, the driver of the vehicle was approached by an unknown black male subject who came to the driver’s door window armed with a handgun. The subject allegedly demanded the victims exit the vehicle, opening the driver’s door. Fearing for their safety, the victims exited the vehicle. The subject then entered the vehicle, along with a second unknown black male, and the two fled the scene in the vehicle.

A photo is included of a vehicle similar in color, year, make and model to the vehicle reported taken in this incident.

Additionally, the victims told police that the vehicle has distinctive stickers of pink lips on both the driver and passenger side rear windows, along with a sticker on the rear bumper that reads “RIP Suga D” in pink lettering.

Anyone with information on this incident or on the reported stolen vehicle is asked to contact Fifth District detectives at 504-658-6050 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll free at 1-877-903-7867.
