NOPD Searches for Person & Vehicle of Interest in Aggravated Assault Incident

Officers in the Fifth District have identified Cheryl Elphage (DOB: 05/28/1969) as a person of interest in an aggravated assault incident that occurred on Friday, June 29, 2018.

Elphage is listed as the registered owner of a 2007 gray Chevy Impala, bearing Louisiana license plate #135CNG, which is the vehicle that was reportedly used during the aggravated assault incident.

The victim told police she was riding her company’s riding lawnmower northbound on Desire Parkway when she observed a vehicle similar to the above pictured vehicle traveling eastbound on Benefit Street. The vehicle stopped in the middle of the block and the front seat passenger fired two shots from a black paintball gun at her, striking her in the right lower leg area.

Elphage is only a person of interest and she is not wanted for the crime. However, investigators believe she may have valuable information as to who was inside of her vehicle during the time of the incident.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident should contact Fifth District detectives at 504-658-6050. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
