NOPD Quickly Arrests Suspect in Aggravated Assault on Bullard Avenue

The NOPD arrested Tyree Jordan (DOB: 06-27-1993) on July 10, 2018 in connection with an aggravated assault incident that occurred earlier that same day in the 7000 block of Bullard Avenue.

At about 7:40 a.m., Jordan allegedly encountered the victim, with whom he reportedly had an ongoing grievance. The victim told police that, as he was leaving the location in his vehicle, Jordan chased him on foot into the street and fired a handgun at the victim twice, striking the victim’s vehicle. The victim was not injured in the incident and called police.

NOPD Seventh District officers responded and canvassed the area in search of Jordan. Officers were able to apprehend Jordan in the 12100 block of North I-10 Service Road. At the time of Jordan’s arrest, he was still reportedly in possession of the handgun allegedly used in the incident.

Jordan was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal use of a weapon. The handgun was confiscated as evidence.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to call Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070.
