During the past week NOPD officers and the Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit arrested 33 adults and 2 juveniles for major offenses including homicide, attempted murder, home invasion, rape, armed robbery, burglary, aggravated battery and assault. NOPD also confiscated 17 firearms and two pellet guns.

 

June 29

Todd Larche (DOB: 1/2/97) for an outstanding warrant for an aggravated battery by cutting.  The incident took place on June 6, 2015, at North Miro and Ursulines Street and Larche turned himself in at the Third District station on Paris Avenue.

 

Barlow Johnson (DOB: 4/13/1970) for simple battery, home invasion, and aggravated assault with a firearm. The incident took place in the 5200 block of Timber Crest on June 3, 2017. He turned himself in at the Third District station.

William Farris (DOB: 10/15/1979) for illegal possession of stolen things. The incident took place on April 20, 2017, in the first block of Stars and Stripes Boulevard and he was apprehended in the 1500 block of Elysian Fields.            

 

June 30

The VOWS Unit arrested Latoya Nathan (DOB: 1/12/1983) for aggravated battery by cutting. The incident and the arrest took place in the 3200 block of Thalia Street. Nathan was also arrested for aggravated assault for an incident that took place in the 6200 block of Craig Street on August 15, 2016.

 

The VOWS Unit arrested Troy Lee, Jr. (DOB: 10/25/1977) for simple robbery, simple burglary and simple battery. The incident occurred in the 2000 block of Third Street on June 10, 2017. Lee was also arrested for two additional incidents including simple battery, simple assault and two municipal instantas. 

 

Tremain Richardson (DOB: 8/14/1982) for two counts of theft. The incidents took place in the 5300 block of Freret Street on June 7, 2017, and June 19, 2017. He was apprehended in the Second District.

 

The VOWS Unit and U.S. Marshals, in cooperation with the U.S. Marshals Eastern Missouri Fugitive Task Force, arrested Ronnie Smith (DOB: 7/20/1994) and Ageeta Locure (DOB: 3/26/1977) for murder. The incident took place in the 3300 block of General Meyers Avenue on October 8, 2016, in the Fourth District. Smith and Locure were apprehended in Ferguson, Missouri.

 

The VOWS Unit arrested Shawn Moore (DOB: 5/28/1997) for aggravated assault with a firearm. The incident occurred in the 7800 block of South Coronet Court in the Seventh District on April 25, 2017, and he was apprehended on June 30, 2017, in the 6300 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Moore was wanted for multiple charges including simple robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm, home invasion, simple assault, unauthorized use of a moveable and a municipal attachment.

 

Kirk Washington (DOB: 6/30/1989) for attempted second degree murder, illegal use of weapons, aggravated criminal damage and two counts of aggravated assault. The incident happened in the 7800 block of Vanderkloot on June 20, 2017, and he was arrested at 2405 Sanctuary Drive.

 

Landon Brown (DOB: 8/15/1973) for illegal possession of stolen things, simple burglary, and simple criminal damage to property. The incident took place in the 900 block of Brooklyn Street on June 30, 2017, and he was arrested in the 500 block of Homer Street.

 

Lashonda Donsereaux (DOB: 8/7/1978) for simple burglary, illegal possession of stolen things, and simple criminal damage to property. The incident took place in the 900 block of Brooklyn Street on June 30, 2017, and he was arrested in the 500 block of Homer Street.

 

Jammy Felton (DOB: 10/25/1988) for attempted armed robbery (June 25) and armed robbery (June 26). The incidents took place in the 2500 and 2600 blocks of St. Claude Avenue and Felton was arrested in the 2700 block of St. Claude.

 

July 1

Michael Crawford (DOB: 1/1/1996) for possession of stolen property.  The arrest took place during a traffic stop at Odin and Music streets. A stolen Glock 9 mm pistol was confiscated at the scene.

 

Ken Nettles (DOB: 9-16-1989) for armed robbery. The incident took place in the 7900 block of Chef Menteur Highway on June 23, 2017.

 

Titus Rowe (DOB: 12/9/1984) for unauthorized entry (business) and theft of a motor vehicle. The incidents occurred in the 100 block of McAlister Way (May 21) and at Calhoun and Willow Street (June 21). He was arrested in the 400 block of Arthur Drive.

 

NOPD arrested a 13-year-old male for theft of a motor vehicle. The incident took place in the 2600 block of Port Street and he was arrested in the 3400 block of Garden Oaks.

 

July 2

On Sunday, July 2, 2017, the VOWS Unit arrested Levour Lombard Jiles (DOB: 9/14/1980) for second degree murder. The incident took place at St. Bernard Avenue and North Roman Street, on June 23, 2017. Jiles was also arrested for a municipal attachment and theft by fraud for an incident that took place in the 5700 block of Crowder Boulevard on July 11, 2016.

 

Barbara White (DOB: 4/15/1951) for aggravated assault. The incident and the arrest occurred in the 2000 block of St. Andrew Street on July 2, 2017.

Joseph Cockrell (DOB: 8/31/1975) for burglary and criminal damage to property.  The incident happened in the 400 block of South Pierce Street on January 11, 2017, and he was arrested in the 2800 block of Perdido Street.  

 

NOPD arrested a 15-year-old male for a burglary that took place in the 3600 block of General Pershing on June 21, 2017. He was apprehended in the 3400 block of South Carrollton.

 

July 3

Darren Earl (DOB: 3/31/1998) was apprehended for simple burglary. The incident occurred in the 4500 block of St. Ferdinand Street on November 11, 2016. Earl was also arrested for possession of marijuana and a court capias. He was apprehended in the 3300 Maurice Duncan Drive in the Fifth District.

 

The VOWS Unit and members of the Kenner Police Department arrested Justin Weatherspoon (DOB: 5/7/2000) for second degree rape. The incident occurred in the 300 block of St. Joseph Street on June 17, 2017, and Weatherspoon was apprehended in the 1200 block of West Esplanade Avenue in Kenner. He was wanted by the NOPD’s Child Abuse division.

 

Robert Hudson (DOB: 8/14/1985) was arrested for simple burglary of a vehicle in the 1800 block of Coliseum Street on June 27, 2016. Hudson was also arrested for two separate incidents: a simple burglary of a vehicle in the 1200 Block of St. Mary Street that occurred on June 27, 2016; and a simple burglary of a vehicle in the 3000 block of Octavia Street that took place on May 16, 2016.

 

Stevens Oliver (DOB: 11/12/1983) for armed robbery. The incident occurred at North Prieur and Canal Street and Oliver was apprehended nearby.

 

Avery Julien (DOB: 11/26/1995) illegal possession of a firearm. The arrest took place during a traffic stop at the intersection of Benson Street and Hayne Boulevard.

Ashley Lewis (DOB: 9/7/1985) for aggravated battery, simple battery, and criminal damage to property.  The incident and the arrest took place in the 1200 block of St. Denis Street.

Elijah Anderson (DOB: 8/3/1977) for aggravated assault with a firearm. The incident occurred on June 30, 2017, in the 1900 block of Newton Street and the arrest was made at Pelican and Le Bouef streets.

 

Richard Carr (DOB: 5/5/1995) for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, resisting an officer, and illegal possession of stolen things. The incident occurred on June 23, 2017, in the 1200 block of Congress and Carr was apprehended in the 900 block of Kerlerec Street.

Bryant Wells (DOB: 12/16/1999) for illegal possession of stolen things, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and resisting an officer. The incident occurred on June 23, 2017, in the 1200 block of Congress and he was apprehended in the 900 block of Kerlerec Street.

 

Delvin Smith (DOB: 4/28/1999) for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, resisting an officer, and illegal possession of stolen things. The incident occurred on June 23, 2017, in the 1200 block of Congress. He was apprehended in the 900 block of Kerlerec Street.

 

Johnnie Leonard (DOB: 2/13/1978) for illegal possession of stolen things. The incident occurred in the 4700 block of Prytania on May 24, 2017, and Leonard was arrested in the 3100 block of Audubon Street.

 

Jeremy Lawson (DOB: 10/30/1991) for burglary. The incident took place on June 18, 2017, in the 900 block of St. Philip Street and he was arrested in the 300 block of Royal Street.

 

July 4

Lawanda Lyles (DOB: 10/8/1968) for theft of a motor vehicle and theft. The incident happened on June 4, 2017, in the 14600 block of Chef Menteur Highway, and she was arrested in the 2800 block of Perdido Street.

 

July 5

The VOWS Unit arrested Tomas Alvarez (DOB: 5/28/1974) for sexual battery. The incident occurred in the 12100 block of I-10 Service Road on June 30, 2017. He was wanted by the NOPD’s Child Abuse division.

 

From June 30 through July 4, NOPD officers arrested 16 people throughout the Eighth District for illegally carrying firearms. The majority of the arrests were made in the 400 – 600 blocks of Bourbon Street, as well as on Canal Street, Exchange Place and Dauphine Street. A total of 16 firearms and two pellet guns were confiscated.
