Suspect Wanted in Auto Burglary, Aggravated Assault on St. Roch Avenue

The NOPD is seeking information from the public to assist in locating and identifying a subject believed to be involved in an auto burglary and as a principle to an aggravated assault in an incident that occurred on July 6, 2017 in the 4400 block of St. Roch Avenue.

At about 4:25 p.m., one of the victims exited the residence, where he was working on a construction job, when he observed two unknown black males inside his co-worker’s white Hummer H3 SUV, and also saw an unknown black male sitting inside a nearby black Inifiniti M3 sedan parked across the street. The victim said that the male in the black sedan pointed a black square-shaped firearm believed to be a pistol at him through the windshield. The subjects who were in the SUV then allegedly exited and entered the sedan, before the vehicle fled northbound on St. Roch Avenue. The victim said as the vehicle drove away, the subject allegedly pointing the firearm continued to do so.

The owner of the SUV told police that after checking his vehicle, he found only the registration and insurance papers missing.

The suspects were described as black males all appearing to be between the ages of 25-30.

In inspecting surveillance video from the area, detectives were able to capture an image of one of the suspects who allegedly burglarized the SUV. This individual, when located, will be arrested for auto burglary and principle to an aggravated assault.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Third District detectives at 504-658-6030. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
