NOPD Makes Multiple Arrests during the Weekend

The NOPD made several significant arrests during the weekend including suspects wanted in connection with a homicide, armed robbery, aggravated assaults and a home invasion.

 

On Sunday, July 2, 2017, the VOWS Unit arrested Levour Lombard Jiles (DOB: 9/14/1980) for second degree murder. The incident took place at St. Bernard Avenue and North Roman Street, on June 23, 2017. Jiles was also arrested for a municipal attachment and theft by fraud for an incident that took place in the 5700 block of Crowder Boulevard on July 11, 2016.

 

The VOWS Unit arrested Shawn Moore (DOB: 5/28/1997) for aggravated assault with a firearm. The incident occurred in the 7800 block of South Coronet Court in the Seventh District on April 25, 2017, and Moore was apprehended on June 30, 2017, in the 6300 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Moore was wanted for multiple charges including simple robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm, home invasion, simple assault, unauthorized use of a moveable and a municipal attachment.

 

On Saturday, July 1, NOPD Seventh District officers arrested Ken Nettles (DOB: 9-16-1989) for armed robbery. Nettles was identified as the suspect who robbed a man at gunpoint in the parking lot of a business in the 7900 block of Chef Menteur Highway. The incident occurred on June 23, 2017.

 

Today (July 3) the VOWS Unit made three additional arrests.

 

Darren Earl (DOB: 3/31/1998) was apprehended for simple burglary. The incident occurred in the 4500 block of St. Ferdinand Street on November 11, 2016. Earl was also arrested for possession of marijuana and a court capias. He was apprehended in the 3300 block of Maurice Duncan Drive in the Fifth District.

 

The VOWS Unit and members of the Kenner Police Department arrested Justin Weatherspoon (DOB: 5/7/2000) for second degree rape. The incident occurred in the 300 block of St. Joseph Street on June 17, 2017, and he was apprehended in the 1200 block of West Esplanade Avenue in Kenner. He was wanted by the Child Abuse division.

 

Robert Hudson (DOB: 8/14/1985) was arrested for simple burglary of a vehicle in the 1800 block of Coliseum Street on June 27, 2016. Hudson was also arrested for two separate incidents: a simple burglary of a vehicle in the 1200 Block of St. Mary Street that occurred on June 27, 2016; and a simple burglary of a vehicle in the 3000 block of Octavia Street that took place on May 16, 2016.
