Victim Reports Attempted Armed Robbery on South Carrollton Avenue

The NOPD needs the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who tried to rob a woman at gunpoint Sunday morning.

On January 15, 2017, at approximately 5:46 a.m., the victim was walking in the 2200 block of South Carrollton Avenue when she was approached by an unknown black male. He put a small black handgun to her chest and demanded her property. The victim noticed the gun did not have a magazine clip and ran from the scene to a nearby residence. The suspect fled the scene without any of the victim’s property.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-26 years old, 6’2”- 6’4” tall and weighed approximately 160 pounds. He had short black dreadlocks extending to his ears and he was wearing all black clothing.
