Vehicle Sought in Aggravated Assault on Congress Street

The NOPD is seeking information on a vehicle believed to have been involved in the commission of an aggravated assault on January 10, 2017 in the 1200 block of Congress Street.

The victim told police that at about 4:45 p.m., he was driving in the area of Gallier and Marias streets when he observed a red newer model Audi parked at that intersection. Once he entered the 1200 block of Congress Street, the victim said, the red vehicle’s occupants opened fire at his vehicle. The victim stated he exited his vehicle at the intersection of Urquhart and Gallier streets and fled to a friend’s house for safety. Upon investigation, officers located multiple spent casings in the 1200 block of Congress Street.

The vehicle is believed to be a red four-door Audi automobile, possibly an A6 model, occupied by four unknown black males.
