Vehicle of Interest Sought in Homicide on Mandeville Street

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating a vehicle of interest in connection with a homicide that occurred on January 17, 2017 in the 1600 block of Mandeville Street.

At about 2:25 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims occupying a vehicle reported stolen when detectives believe they engaged in a shootout with another vehicle, occupied by unknown subjects. The two victims in the stolen vehicle each suffered gunshot wounds in the incident. As a result of his injuries, the driver of the stolen vehicle is believed to have lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a parked vehicle in the 1700 block of Mandeville Street, which struck and injured female standing nearby. Victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

One of the victims in this incident has died today (Jan. 24) as a result of his injuries. Because of this, the incident is now being investigated as a homicide.

The vehicle of interest is described as a white Chevrolet Camaro with dark tinted windows. The vehicle also featured artwork on its hood with the letters “R.I.P.”
