Suspect Sought for Armed Robbery on Elysian Fields

Suspect Sought for Armed Robbery on Elysian Fields

NOPD is looking for a suspect wanted in connection to an armed robbery in the 1600 block of Elysian Fields.

 

The victim reported that on January 21, 2017, at 11:02 p.m., he met an acquaintance on North Roman Street. The acquaintance asked the victim to give her and her male cousin a ride to the cousin’s residence. The victim complied and when they arrived at the residence, the male produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. Shortly after, the male suspect relocated to an ATM at the intersection of Elysian Fields and North Claiborne Avenue where he used the victim’s debit card.

 

The suspect is described as being a black male with a light complexion, 5’8” tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He has a short fade haircut and is estimated to be about 17 years old. He was wearing a dark gray or blue hoodie with blue jeans and black Air Force One shoes. The suspect is known to frequent the Mandeville/St. Roch area with a black female known as “Slim."

Armed Robbery

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
