NOPD Seeking Suspects in Armed Carjacking on Conti Street

The NOPD is searching for two unknown males responsible for a carjacking incident in the 2300 block of Conti Street on January 5, 2017.

At around 12:30 a.m., the victim told police she was asleep inside of her white 2005 Mazda 6 automobile, which was parked outside of a home. The victim then told officers she woke up to two Hispanic males with guns reportedly opening her driver’s side car door. Both suspects then allegedly demanded the victim’s money. As the victim attempted to run, she told police, one of the suspects grabbed her by the neck. The victim eventually started running again and the two suspects fired two shots at her as she fled the scene. The suspects then allegedly fled the scene inside of the automobile.

The victim described the subjects as two Hispanic males in their early 20s, both standing between 5’4” to 5’5”. One subject weighed about 130 pounds and was wearing a dark-colored hoodie and dark pants. The second subject was described as having a strong jawline, weighing about 145 pounds and wearing a dark cap, dark jacket and unknown color pants.

Surveillance video capturing the subjects can be viewed at https://youtu.be/S-OCQP4IOv8. One subject can be seen pulling on the door handle of a vehicle in the area before being joined by the second subject and leaving the scene on foot.
