NOPD's 'Wobble Cop' Serves Up Motivation At Popular Po-boy Shop

NOPD Detective Winston Harbin spent some time with the staff of Parkway Bakery and Tavern this morning – and he wasn’t ordering po boys.

The owners of the popular local restaurant invite prominent members of the community to speak at their employee meetings each month, and today the YouTube sensation known as the "Wobble Cop" talked about why he became a police officer and how gratifying his work as a cold case detective can be.

Harbin also told the group where he got his moves (“My daughter taught me how to do The Wobble") and what motivated him to start dancing on the parade route at Mardi Gras two years ago (“Not sure! The music began to play and I encouraged my coworker DeCynda Barnes, 'Come on, let’s do it’.”).

He also took questions from the group but it wasn’t long before the Q&A segment turned into yet another dance-off for Harbin – representing his 9th Ward roots – and a Parkway staffer who hailed from the 7th Ward.
