NOPD Quickly Arrests Suspect in Residence Burglary on Read Boulevard

The NOPD arrested James Hulitt (DOB: 07-20-89) on January 11, 2017, less than an hour after he allegedly burglarized a residence in the 7900 block of Read Boulevard.

The victim told police that as she arrived at her residence at about 3:25 p.m., she observed lights that were turned on and heard noises inside of her residence. She then said she loudly asked if anyone was in the residence, at which time an unknown male came out of a room and attempted to scare her. The victim observed her bathroom window was open, which the suspect used to exit the residence and flee the scene. The victim then noticed that cash was missing from the residence.

During investigation, Hulitt was located in a neighboring residence within the complex. The victim identified Hulitt as the perpetrator she saw in her residence during the incident. Hulitt was then placed under arrest on a charge of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. In addition, Hulitt was also arrested on a parole violation charge.
