The NOPD arrested 16 individuals in the Eighth District between January 15 and January 21, 2017, on gun and drug possession charges.

Those arrested include:

• Evangelynn Polk (DOB: 06-25-1985), arrested on Jan. 21 in the 800 block of Conti Street on charges of possession of marijuana, negligent carrying of a concealed weapon and two counts of disturbing the peace.
• Jeffery Werhun (DOB: 09-10-1982), arrested on Jan. 21 at the intersection of Bourbon and Conti streets on charges of possession of marijuana, disturbing the peace by tumultuous acts and public intoxication
• Ryan Reed (DOB: 06-06-1991), arrested on Jan. 20 in the 500 block of Bourbon Street on charges of possession of cocaine, illegal possession of prescription medication and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Durmaine Duckett (DOB: 12-17-1979), arrested on Jan. 18 at the intersection of Bourbon and St. Louis streets on charges of possession of cocaine.
• William Zanders (DOB: 10-31-1997), arrested on Jan. 16 in the 800 block of Bourbon Street on charges of marijuana and cocaine possession.
• Brandon George (DOB: 04-14-1989), arrested on January 18 in the 400 block of Bourbon Street on charges of illegal carrying of a weapon, illegal possession of prescription medication, illegal possession of amphetamines, illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of narcotics and illegal possession of a firearm by person convicted of domestic abuse battery.
• Dwayne Reed (DOB: 04-19-1969), arrested on Jan. 17 in the 800 block of St. Louis Street on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possessing imitation narcotics.
• William Taylor (DOB: 11-18-1995), arrested on Jan. 17 in the 800 block of St. Louis Street on marijuana and amphetamine possession charges.
• Shanga Jones (DOB: 05-16-1979), arrested on Jan. 17 in the 800 block of St. Louis Street on charges of marijuana possession and cocaine.
• Brandon Brooks (DOB: 01-20-1998), arrested on Jan. 17 in the 500 block of Bourbon Street on charges of possession of imitation narcotics, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
• Felix Mulder (DOB: 09-12-1995), arrested on Jan. 16 in the 100 block of Bourbon Street on a charge of possession of marijuana and disturbing the peace.
• Donwell Riley (DOB: 09-24-1982), issued a summons on Jan. 16 in the 800 block of Conti Street on a charge of first-offense marijuana possession.
• Thomas Myers (DOB: 11-14-1990), issued summonses on Jan. 16 at the intersection of St. Peter and Chartres streets on charges of lewd public conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Ricardo McKendall (DOB: 09-08-1997), arrested on Jan. 16 at the intersection of Bourbon and Conti streets on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm.
• Dareus Bennett (DOB:  08-19-1998), arrested on Jan. 21 in the 800 block of St. Louis Street on a charge of illegal carrying of a weapon.
• Charles Freeman (DOB: 07-31-1996), arrested on Jan. 21 in the 220 block of Bourbon Street on a charge of illegal carrying of a weapon.
