The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred in the early hours today (January 17, 2023) at the intersection of Erato and Constance streets that left one person dead.
At about 5:29 a.m., NOPD Sixth District detectives responded to the location and located an unknown male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased on scene.
NOPD detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible as well as a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
